Clearance Rates For US Law Enforcement
"• In the nation in 2020, 41.7 percent of violent crimes and 14.6 percent of property crimes were cleared by arrest or exceptional means. (See Table 25.)
"• When considering clearances of violent crimes, 54.4 percent of murder offenses, 46.4 percent of aggravated assault offenses, 30.6 percent of rape offenses, and 28.8 percent of robbery offenses were cleared. (See Table 25.)
"• Among property crimes, 15.1 percent of larceny-theft offenses, 14.0 percent of burglary offenses, and 12.3 percent of motor vehicle theft offenses were cleared. (See Table 25.)
