(Spain And International Drug Law Enforcement) "Spain enjoyed excellent bilateral and multilateral law enforcement cooperation with international partners in 2013. Cooperation on EU operations in the Mediterranean improved, and EU funds are being used to construct an EU command and control center to oversee maritime operations. Spain is a member of the European multilateral Maritime Analysis and Operation Centre – Narcotics. Spain also provides 22 law enforcement liaisons to three EU operational platforms in Senegal, Ghana, and Colombia. Spain’s law enforcement cooperation with Latin American governments further improved, and U.S. law enforcement agencies maintained strong working relationships with Spanish police services, resulting in multiple significant cocaine seizures in 2013. In a joint operation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, authorities seized 575 kilograms of cocaine and arrested 74 suspected traffickers."
